GENERAL

1. How good is the cleanliness and sterilization?

  • The surgery is cleaned with disinfectant solution, twice daily. Patients and visitors are requested to keep their footwear outside the waiting area.
  • The instruments are washed well in antiseptic solutions and autoclaved. Autoclaving is the standard procedure used internationally for complete sterilization.
  • No instruments are reused on patients without autoclaving.
  • All gloves, syringes and face masks used are of the disposable type.

NOTE: Work can be delivered faster if appointments are booked well in advance. The schedule given above includes RECALL visits which is a regular feature and is compulsorily practiced in our clinic.

3. How do I pay?

As per our accounting department,

  • Credit and Debit cards are acceptable with a 2 % surcharge.
  • It is mandatory that Patients carry their Passport for verifying of identity while using the Credit / Debit cards.
  • American Express Cards and Travelers Cheques are not accepted.
    Insurance payments and installment facilities are not acceptable.
  • As a general practice, 50% of treatment cost is to be paid at the beginning of treatment.
  • Cash Payments are also possible. Preferred in INR.



IMPLANTS

1. Can I have an Implant?

Any body with one or more missing teeth or some one with all teeth missing can opt for Implants.

2. What health status do I need?

The patient has to let their Dentist know whether they suffer from:

i. Heart Diseases

  • 1HD -
  • Had a recent By – Pass Surgery -
  • Whether they are on Asprin tablets.

ii. Blood Dyscrasias

  • Long Bleeding Time -
  • Long Clotting Time -
  • Leukemia
  • Osteoporosis
  • High Blood Pressure
  • Diabetes Mellitus

WE TAKE THE NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS IN ALL SUCH CASES

3. Is the procedure of placing implants painful?

Placing of implants is a minor procedure done under local anesthesia. There is only a little discomfort during the procedure. Minimal pain may be experienced 24 hours after the procedure which is well controlled with analgesics.

4. Can I eat normally with implants?

After an initial period of 2 months you can eat anything and everything. The implants function similar to natural teeth.

5. What type of implants do you use?

We use world’s No 1 implant system from NOBEL BIOCARE.

6. How long do I wait for my permanent teeth after placing the implants?

You need to wait for a minimum of 4 months for the implants to get integrated with your bone. Any time there after we can do the second stage where we place the teeth.

7. Can implants and teeth not be placed at the same stage?

We can do so if it is a single tooth and if you have a very good bone structure.

8. Can I wear dentures till I get my permanent teeth?

You can wear dentures till you get your permanent teeth.

9. How long does an Implant last?

For those having a good bone structure, and those who maintain their hygiene well, and are non smokers, implants easily last for more than ten years.

10. What are the benefits of oral implants?

  • Improves your confidence and self esteem. You need not think of your denture slipping loose or breaking.
  • Improves your physical health as you can eat better.
  • The underlying bone of the jaw gets stimulated by forces which are transmitted while biting because when you chew, the implant acts like the tooth root. This prevents loss / resorbtion of bone.

11. What are the potential problems that I can face whilst getting implants done?

A skilled surgeon rarely encounters the complications . However, minor problems cannot be 100% ruled out.

  • Surgical complications like infection.
  • Implant might fail to integrate with the bone.
  • Gum inflammation around the implant may occur if proper hygiene is not maintained.

VENEERS

1. What are Veneers and how can Veneers change my smile?

Veneers are nail thin coatings of porcelain which are stuck on the tooth with minimum tooth preparation. The Veneers can be shaped so as to

  • Close your spaces between teeth
  • Made to a lighter / darker color so as to match the other teeth
  • Put over other cracked teeth to reinforce them
  • Can be put to change the shape of the tooth to a shape so desired.

2. How strong are veneers?

Once a veneer is bonded to the tooth with special adhesives, it attains very high strength.

3. How many visits would I need to change my smile with veneers?

Usually 2 visits are sufficient for preparation. Thereafter, 1 visit for fixing the veneer after a gap of 5 to 6 days.

4. What is the process involved in getting veneers?

Your teeth will be shaped minimal only on the outer surface. Then an impression is taken and your shade is selected.

5. How do I take care of the veneers?

  • Have a normal diet.
  • Avoid biting hard foods like Bones and Nuts.
  • Use a non abrasive gel tooth paste for brushing.
  • Brush and floss regularly.



FILLINGS

1. Can I get my black fillings replaced with white fillings?

Sure you can. The white filling material is a composite resin. A blue light is used to harden and cure the material. Immediately there after, you can eat normally.

2. What are the advantages of white fillings?

Aesthetics is the main advantage.
Only the decayed portion of the tooth needs to bee cleaned . You need not remove good tooth structure to shape the tooth as done for amalgam fillings for retention.

3. What are the disadvantages of white fillings?

They wear out faster than amalgam fillings. You may need to redo the filling after around 5 years or so.
